Cobalt based Cored Wires

Thalit® 6 Cored Wires

Is a cobalt-based alloy with intercalated Cr and W carbides. This alloy is characterized by high corrosion and heat resistance as well as high-temperature strength. Up to approx. 1000°C, the weld metal is also scale-resistant. Due to the high hardness, the weld metal can only be machined by grinding.

The welding wires are used for wear rings, grinding and roller burners and wear elements in the chemical industry.

The degree of hardness is 52 - 55 HRc.

Thalit® 6 Cored Wires

Is a cobalt-based alloy with intercalated Cr and W carbides. In addition to high abrasion and severe corrosion, this alloy resists particularly hard impacts as well as extreme temperature changes. Because of their high toughness, they can still be machined with carbide tools.

The welding wires are used for fittings, bearing and sliding surfaces and hot shears.

The hardness grade is 40 - 43 HRc.

Thalit® 12 Cored Wires

Is a cobalt-based alloy with high resistance to abrasion and thermal shock and extremely high corrosion resistance.

The welding wires are used for fittings, bearing and sliding surfaces and hot shears.

The hardness grade is 45 - 48 HRc.

Thalit® 21 Cored Wires

Is a gas shielded flux cored electrode which deposits a Cr, Ni, Mo alloyed cobalt base alloy. The weld metal has very high toughness and has the highest corrosion and temperature resistance of all common cobalt-based alloys. The weld metal can be machined and is used on parts that are subjected to severe corrosion attack and high temperatures, as well as high impact and compressive stress.

The welding rods are used for valve seats, fittings, bearing and sliding surfaces and wear elements in the chemical industry.

The degree of hardness is 30 - 35 HRc (work hardened 45 HRc).

Thalit® 25 Cored Wires

Is a gas shielded flux cored electrode which deposits a Cr, Ni, W alloyed cobalt base alloy. The weld metal has high temperature resistance and provides good resistance to friction wear metal/metal.

For use in continuous casting rolls and high temperature and metal friction wear.

The hardness grade is 200 - 220 HB.

Nickel based Cored Wires

Thaloy® C Cored Wires

Is a flux cored electrode used for high temperature and wear resistant deposits. The deposited weld metal is corrosion resistant under both oxidizing and reducing conditions. Deposits made with this alloy are exceptionally tough and harden under impact and compressive stresses at high temperatures up to about 400 HB, without any associated deformation of the weld metal. For thicker buildups, the lower buildup layers should be made with the high-strength buildup material Corthal® 341. Depending on the base metal, the workpieces should be preheated to 300 - 400°C.

The welding wires are used for dies, hot press dies, hammer saddles and hot-hole mandrels.

The hardness grade is 200 - 240 HB (strengthened 400 HB).

Thaloy® Co Cored Wires

Is a flux cored electrode used for high temperature and wear resistant deposits. The deposited weld metal is corrosion resistant under both oxidizing and reducing conditions. Deposits made with this alloy are exceptionally tough and harden under impact and compressive stresses at high temperatures up to about 420 HB without any associated deformation of the weld metal.

The hardness grade is 200 - 260 HB (strengthened 420 HB).

Thaloy® 520 Cored Wires

Is a Cr-, Co-, Mo- and W- alloyed flux cored electrode on Ni base for build-up welding under shielding gas. The alloy is suitable for surfacing on parts subjected to heavy impact and shock. The deposited weld metal is easily workable, forgeable, corrosion and thermal shock resistant.

The welding wires are used for hammer saddles, forging hammers, hot dies and stretching inserts.

The hardness grade is 32 - 35 HRc (hardened up to 45 HRc).

Thaloy® 625 Cored Wires

Is a Ni-based alloy similar in chemical composition to the material Inc.625. The material has excellent resistance to corrosion and oxidation. Welding of the slag-free metal powder- flux cored electrode must be carried out under gas protection, using inert gases if possible. To improve the wetting behavior and flow properties, small amounts of active components (CO2) or hydrogen or helium can be added to the shielding gas.

The welding wires are used for offshore components, hydraulic components, furnace parts and in the chemical industry.

The hardness grade is approx. 250 - 350 HB.

Thaloy® SE 21/35 Cored Wires

Is a Si, Cr, B alloyed flux cored electrode on Ni basis for build-up welding under shielding gas. The deposited weld metal corresponds in its properties to those of known cobalt hard alloys. This concerns in particular the hot hardness, the thermal shock resistance, the corrosion resistance as well as the wear resistance.

The welding wires are used for oil press screws, fittings, in chemical apparatus engineering, in the food industry, nuclear technology and paper industry.

The degree of hardness is 33 - 36 HRc.
